Jeep Wrangler: HOOD / Closing The Hood

To close the hood, remove the support rod from
the slot and replace it on the hood panel
retaining clip. Lower the hood slowly. Secure
both of the hood latches.
WARNING!
Be sure the hood is fully latched before
driving your vehicle. If the hood is not fully
latched, it could open when the vehicle is in
motion and block your vision. Failure to follow
this warning could result in serious injury or
death.
CAUTION!
To prevent possible damage, do not slam the
hood to close it. Use a firm downward push at
the front center of the hood to ensure that
both latches engage. Do not fully open and
rest the hood on the windshield.

Release both the hood latches.

Raise the hood and locate the safety latch,
located in the middle of the hood opening...
Other information:
Before setting out on a trip, practice turning,
stopping and backing the trailer in an area away
from heavy traffic.
If using a manual transmission vehicle for trailer
towing, all starts must be in FIRST gear to avoid
excessive clutch slippage.
Automatic Transmission — If Equipped
Select the DRIVE range when towing...
Push down on the release bar on each
side, and pull the seat out and away from
the lower bracket.
Release Bar Location
Remove the seat from the vehicle.
To reinstall the rear seat, just reverse these
steps.
NOTE:
Do not drive the vehicle without reattaching the
rear seat latches...
