Jeep Wrangler: GETTING TO KNOW YOUR VEHICLE / VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM — IF EQUIPPED
The Vehicle Security system monitors the
vehicle doors for unauthorized entry and the
ignition switch for unauthorized operation.
When the alarm is activated, the interior
switches for door locks are disabled. The
Vehicle Security system provides both audible
and visible signals. If something triggers the
alarm, the Vehicle Security system will provide
the following audible and visible signals: the horn will pulse, the park lamps
and/or turn
signals will flash, and the vehicle security light
in the instrument cluster will flash.
Push and release the Remote Start button on
the key fob twice within five seconds. The
vehicle doors and swing gate will lock, the turn
signals will flash twice, and the horn will chirp
twice...
Follow these steps to arm the Vehicle Security
system:
Make sure the vehicle’s ignition is placed
in the OFF position.
Perform one of the following methods to
lock the vehicle:
Push lock on the interior power door lock
switch with the driver and/or passenger
door open...
Other information:
In some localities, it may be a legal requirement
to pass an inspection of your vehicle's
emissions control system. Failure to pass could
prevent vehicle registration.
For states that require an
Inspection
and Maintenance (I/M), this check
verifies the Malfunction Indicator
Light (MIL) is functioning and is not on
when the engine is running, and that the OBD II
system is ready for testing...
Tires
Examine tires for excessive tread wear and
uneven wear patterns. Check for stones, nails,
glass, or other objects lodged in the tread or
sidewall. Inspect the tread for cuts and cracks.
Inspect sidewalls for cuts, cracks, and bulges.
Check the lug nut/bolt torque for tightness...
